Following on from work already carried out for the Southport Flower Show and drawing on experience with the RSPB and The Fair Trade Store, Ninethirty’s Director Steven Swann said of the win “This is a major win for us. Being up against bigger agencies, we knew we had to really impress. We are a small company but with a broad client base. We were delighted to have already worked with the Southport Flower Show earlier this year and really felt that this helped us understand their business and enable us to deliver ideas which really resonated with them.

This site will be a showcase not only of our creative and technical abilities but also a chance for us to bring the Southport Flower Show and it’s unique brand bang up to date across all mediums!”

David Jackson, Chief Executive of Southport Flower Show, said
“The quality of companies engaged in the pitch was extremely high and we are very pleased to appoint Ninethirty Creative as their response to our brief not only fulfilled our expectations but also offered new ideas and cost effective solutions.”

The new site will incorporate number of social networking technologies, including dynamic Flickr feeds, Facebook and Twitter as well video to enable the Flower Show to engage with its wide fan base in many new and exciting ways.

We see many websites which have been neglected over time. With the current credit crunch, alot of companies need to look at how they can make the web work for them and give it an overhaul. There are many ways in which you can make money online and get your products and brand across. The most common being an e-commerce site. There are many traders that own shops but have never thought about selling online.

Now is a good time to reach a wider audience via the internet. We are currently working with alot of traders who are looking to increase sales via the internet. One of the main areas to monitor your site traffic, is to install analytic software which will enable you to monitor site traffic, keywords etc etc. All our sites have analytics installed, whether it be a corporate showcase site or an e-commerce site.

There are many other ways in which to improve your presence so we have listed some pointers for you below.

Below are a few ways to improve your online presence

Search Engine Marketing
Having a website which looks great, does not always lead to conversion success or traffic to your site. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a term used for a group of items that help your site get strong search engine rankings through Yahoo, Google, and many other search engines out there on the web today.

Social Media
Alot of you may be thing Social media what is that? Social media networks are becoming increasingly popular over the internet, including Facebook, Twitter, Digg.com and MySpace, to name but a few. Social media offers companies the opportunity to build in viral marketing into part of their online presence. You can use Social media to network with other people and companies. It enables you to submit news and other articles for users and business users, it can essentially direct your brand through word of mouth on the web.

Adding pages of content to your site
Adding pages of content might seem daunting but it is a matter of fact that these pages will help alot in a user finding what they are looking for. The rule which stands out the most for Search engine optimisation is to add traffic. The more pages you have which are cached pages are indexed by Google Yahoo and many other search engines, it will help give your site more chance of making an impact in search engines.

Having more pages will also help when setting up an adwords campaign in Google (i.e the sponsored links which appear at the top and right hand side. If you have pages which are about a particular product which you want to target, setting up a pages which is specifically about that product will help enable you to target people to that page rather than people having to trawl through your site to find that product.

For example if you are selling watches and you are wanting to target people with a particular new brand of watch, setting up an individual page for that item and having your Google Adwords campaign, send you straight to that link making sure that the users sees what it is they have clicked on. If you put a generic url in the Adwords campaign they will spend time searching for that product, this can then result in them leaving the site as they can’t find the watch which is on offer, which then results in a sale lost.

There are many other techniques in which your site can be improved and having an hour with Ninethirty can help you realise the ptential in having your web presence improved, making you more money in the log run.

It is still early days for the real-world adoption of Web 2.0 technologies and applications to help businesses drive revenues, improve productivity, get closer to customers and reduce costs.

It is still early days for the real-world adoption of Web 2.0 technologies and applications to help businesses drive revenues, improve productivity, get closer to customers and reduce costs.

Web 2.0 is already producing leaders – Facebook, YouTube, MySpace and Google – but for many organisations, coping with its implications remains a challenge because for the most part, Web 2.0 has been flying underneath the corporate radar.

In an example of Web 2.0 technology reaping real-world benefits, a major airline’s flight crew has chosen to use Facebook to manage their schedules, as did management consultancy Capgemini for the co-ordination of a new starters’ “onboarding” programme.

By November of 2007, Facebook had acquired 50 million subscribers, with many organisational personnel already signed up, including 17,000 employees from Microsoft, 20,000 from IBM, and 13,000 from Accenture.

Open APIs

One of the key tactics in the battle between Facebook, MySpace and Google has been the opening up their application program interfaces (APIs) so that anyone can develop for them. The opportunity to capitalise on a fast-growing user base is tempting companies that have been looking for ways to get involved with social networking but are not keen on developing their own networks.

Social networking – which sits alongside blogs, wikis, mashups and RSS as the key tools that define Web 2.0 – can make such an impact, the failure to consider the impact of social enhancement technology on the performance of the enterprise is a big mistake.

So it is no longer enough for IT directors to dismiss Web 2.0 as simply the next round of web-development technologies, although some still do.
