Ninethirty Creative have managed to seal a 12 month contract with The Fair Trade Store for Email Marketing and SEO. Ninethirty Creative won the work following a three way pitch with 2 other Northwest based Web Design Agencies.

The first Email Campaign will be sent out in October and then every month. Ninethirty Creative’s Email Marketing Tool allows its clients to track and monitor click through rates, open rates and bounced addresses. Most of Ninethirty Creative’s clients are using the Email Marketing Tool and are seeing a good return of investment.

The SEO will be done over a 12 month period but will encompass an SEO blitz in the first month. The aim is to target certain keywords and optimise the site based around them. The Fair Trade Store wants to increase its sales over the next 12 months and using targeted Email Marketing and SEO will have a big increase on The Fair Trade Store’s sales.

Ninethirty Creative are really pleased with this win and are looking forward to starting the work.

When you’re working on your optimization programs, are you thinking ahead? Do you watch industry trends to see what may be on the horizon? If not, then it’s time you did. Business planning is all about not only today, but tomorrow as well. Search engine optimization programs are no different – they need to be future-proofed.

Future proofing your SEO means that you operate with one eye on where the industry is going as to ensure your efforts hold up over time. This is a wise move not only from stability reasoning but from a financial one as well. That is to say, there is a cost consideration when we have to go back and adapt entire websites with new tactics that we really should have seen coming. Your SEO efforts should always stand the test of time.

Two main types of future-proof SEO

The safety element - this means we use tactics that we’re fairly certain will work tomorrow and tread lightly on the ones that aren’t. One thing is certain in SEO is that there are fine lines that we cross from what is an acceptable practice, to those we know could get us in hot water. What is border-line today is often against the TOS tomorrow.

This means that tactics you’re employing now might actually harm a website in the near future.

The predictive element – this means having a keen understanding of the search industry and capitalizing on trends before they happen. This means you use your keen sense fortune-telling to try and establish where search engines are going and make sure your optimization programs are positioned for best effect.

One of the most ridiculous arguments you will sometimes see on business forums is that of SEO vs PPC. Some PPC specialists will argue that what SEO may deliver is so vague, that PPC is the only way to go because it’s easier to measure. Some SEO specialists that SEO is more cost effective in the long run, therefore SEO in the only way to go because it has a lower CPA.

Both arguments are based on empty bias, and to rely on just a single marketing channel – not least SEO – is a precarious way to engage in marketing.

SEO and PPC are both valid marketing channels, and as such, a company looking to market on the internet should ideally look to leverage PPC and SEO campaigns, amongst others.

While good PPC will deliver results more immediately, SEO provides a potentially strong long-term method of bringing in sales traffic.

Both methods also compliment each other well – it well documented through various studies that when a company runs a strong PPC campaign and then achieves strong natural rankings, both marketing signals reinforce each other, improving CTR on PPC ads.

Overall, any business serious about internet marketing should seriously consider applying marketing strategies that include both PPC and SEO.

They are not rival strategies, but complimentary ones, and when applied intelligently, open up a breadth of opportunity for any business taking this approach.
