The Liverpool Spider
Arachnophobics are advised to avoid Liverpool this week after a giant mechanical spider was hung from a city centre tower block which is set for demolition.
The 20-tonne creature marks the beginning of a five-day piece of street theatre as part of the Capital of Culture year.
It is created by the same people behind the Sultan's Elephant which galumphed around London complete which passengers in May 2006.
Documentary : Typeface
Typeface is a documentary currently in production which focuses on a rural Midwestern museum and print shop in the USA, where international artists meet retired craftsmen and together navigate the convergence of modern design and traditional technique.
I'll be keeping an eye on this film, it's promises to provide a great insight for anyone interested in the history of modern typogtraphy and design as we know it today.
June 2008 / Liverpool : European Capital of Culture
This Summer Liverpool will be transformed by an open-air, free-to-view, mass public appeal art event. Over 100 specially designed Superlambanana sculptures (180cm tall) will showcase the creativity of Liverpool; its heritage; architecture; regeneration and world renowned art scene for ten weeks from June 16 - August 25

Design Show Liverpool hits the city in June - and it's set to be the largest and most exciting design event the Northwest has ever seen. Tate Modern : Street Art
In the first commission to use the building's iconic river facade, and the first major public museum display of street art in London, Tate Modern presents the work of six internationally acclaimed artists whose work is intricately linked to the urban environment:
Blu from Bologna, Italy; the artist collective Faile from New York, USA; JR from Paris, France; Nunca and Os Gêmeos, both from São Paulo, Brazil and Sixeart from Barcelona, Spain.
New Business, New Design
Denfords are a company growing in size and approached Ninethirty for a brand identity which would give them a an advantage over their competitors. Since the Identity was launched, we are now implementing a new website which can give them another avenue to advertise and grow their business.
Fletchers Solicitors
Ninethirty were approached by Fletchers solicitors to design and build an online website and brand, which would put them ahead of their competitors. Ninethirty also built a CMS which could easily be updated in house by their marketing team.
